About the lab

Insect and Poison Research Laboratory at the Faculty of Science cares about the latest scientific studies and research in the field of medical entomology, agricultural pest control and disease vectors

Research Areas

Insect exploration of environmentally, economically and medically important insects in the Tabuk region as well as factors affecting their spread and distribution.


Biological evaluation of pesticides used in the control of agricultural pests and vectors available in the local market in the Kingdom to study their effectiveness in field control.


Biological assessment of other compounds used in the control of agricultural pests and disease vectors (eg growth regulators, plant extracts and microorganisms causing insect diseases).


Organize and conduct training courses and workshops on how to perform insect exploration and vector control for university students and relevant government agencies.


The use of the latest modern techniques used in the definition of insect species and study their molecular structure, which will reflect positively on the development of existing taxonomic systems.
