Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Tabuk organised an event concerning the pregnancy and Drug Safety



After the approval of King of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Council of Higher Education, God preserves them at its (seventy-first) session, held on 14/11/1433 H, under the guidance of the Quran No. 7385 and dated 26/2/1434 AH approved the establishing of faculty of Pharmacy at University of Tabuk

Awareness event against drug addiction

Under the patronage of his excellency, Dr. Alaa bin Abdullah Bagalagel, the dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for training of students and students on the community awareness of addiction drugs, Faculty of Pharmacy held an event on Thursday, 7 February 2019 (2 Jumada II 1440H) under the supervision of the Department of Drugs and Toxicology which was about the awareness against drugs of addiction and their damage in the second floor of the building of the female students.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Attar, Head of Department of Drugs and Toxicology , Dr. Walid Barakat, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Sherif Al-Kenishi, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for students and Dr. Ghareeb Soliman Head of Department of Pharmaceutics, Dr. Nizar Siraj, Head of Department of Natural Products and Alternative Medicine  and Dr. Mona Kamel, Department of Pharmaceutics and Dr. Heba Allah Hosseini and Dr. Nehal Mohsen Al-Sherbini, Department of Medicinal Chemistry and the supervisor of the student activity unit of the female students Dr. Sawsan Zeitoun Department of pharmacology and Toxicology.

The event included awareness of the different types of drugs and their use by addicts (whether smoking, oral abuse, injection, etc.) and their effect on the nervous system and the body in general and its psychological and societal symptoms. As well as the awareness of the symptoms of withdrawal with most of the substances used in addiction and seriousness and how to treat them. The students also discussed the symptoms of acute poisoning with drugs of addiction.

The student groups were collection to cover different medical groups:

Opioids, Tramadol, Pregabalin, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepine, Alcohol, Amphetamines, Hallucinating agents, Smoking and Hashish.

The students showed a high degree of knowledge and vigilance and the ability to express their knowledge and the modern scientific material that they have gathered and showed the professors present faculty members impressed by the way the organization and team work and scientific material and models presented by students, who considered the nucleus of pharmacists of the future and expected them a successful future, Allah's willing.
