The Standing (Permanent) Committee for Teaching Assistants, Lecturers, Language Teachers

The "The Standing Committee for Teaching Assistants, Lecturers, Language Teachers and Research Assistants" was founded with the establishment of the university. This committee examines the subjects received from the high administration of the university in addition to the functions, specialties and responsibilities outlined in article (3) of the Regulations concerning the university's Saudi faculty members and those in their condition according to the Regulations of the Council of Higher Education and Universities and its law which state that: a "Standing Committee for Teaching Assistants, Lecturers, Language Teachers and Research Assistants" is established and presided by the vice rector for graduate studies and scientific research. A decision of its establishment and appointing its members is issued by the council of the university based on a recommendation from the rector of the university. This committee submits its recommendations to the council.

The functions of this committee are:

1- Propose the general policy for selecting teaching assistants, lecturers, language teachers and research assistants and appoint them to different departments and colleges.

2- Express opinions about the recommendations of the Faculty Council concerning the  appointing of teaching assistants,  lecturers, language teachers and research assistants according to the following criteria:

a- The number of Saudi faculty members and their percentage in relation to the overall number of faculty members in each department, their specialty and their teaching loads.

b- The number of teaching assistants, lecturers, language teachers and research assistants in each department.

c- The number of scholars in each department, their specific fields and the expected dates for their return.

d- Proposing the distribution of different jobs for teaching assistants, lecturers, language teachers and research assistants according to the current and foreseeable needs of each departments.

e- Studying the recommendations related to the transfer of teaching assistants and lecturers to administrative jobs or refer them to the Civil Service Bureau.
